Ngorongoro Crater

It is possible to see rhino, elephant, buffalo, prides of lion, hippo and a wide variety of plains game, together with an amazing variety of birdlife, forest and plains, fresh water and soda lakes all ‘within’ one mountain.

Accommodation: Ngorongoro Sopa LodgePerched on the Eastern rim of the crater the all-suite Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge (90 suites) is designed as a collection of rondavels spreading out from a central pair of ‘giant’ rondavels – all looking into the actual crater. The high altitude (7800ft/2340mtrs) means that it can be cold and fresh at certain times of year and the open air pool is certainly ‘refreshing’. The suites are all centrally heated and the public areas have log fires. There is a souvenir shop and lounge with satellite television.
