Overview

Dongwe Ocean View is a new Boutique Resort situated on one of Zanzibar’s most beautiful beaches. It is located 50km from Stone Town and the airport, closer to the northern tip of the South East Peninsula.

It boasts a breath taking scenery and is the perfect setting for gateways of all kinds, whether romantic or total relaxation.

Accommodation

The resort, consisting of two double storey buildings, has 16 sea facing rooms and 2 garden view rooms convertible into 2 rooms for families or friends.

Each room is tastefully furnished in Tarran style all with modern amenities air conditioning, ceiling fans, minibar, TV and combination safe.

The hotel has a restaurant and a bar overlooking the sea allowing you to enjoy the sea breeze and spectacular sea view.

There are two terraces, situated on the top of both buildings - one houses a small spa and massage area, while the other offers a private lounge for ultimate relaxation and tranquility. Their unique positions provide an enchanting view of the ocean and the coast during the day and a romantic star-lit sky at night.

Our opinion

We think that Dongwe Ocean View offers something a little different from the other beach lodges that are popular all along the east coast of Zanzibar – the majority being makuti thatched bungalows. Dongwe Ocean View on the other hand is set over two floors in a boutique style which works well. It’s simple but luxurious and should be considered by anyone.

Currently (as a relatively new property) we have some fantastic introductory offers which make Dongwe Ocean View one of the best buys on the island.
