Overview

The Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort is a friendly and lively hotel situated on the north coast of Zanzibar island and boasts a stunning white sandy beach as well as four large swimming pools with a swim up bar and Jacuzzi.

The hotel itself has been beautifully designed with a combination of both Swahili and Zanzibari architecture and comprises of 80 superior rooms and 16 suites. It is set in 20 acres of tropical gardens and offers a mix of modern comfort with unspoilt natural beauty.

Accommodation

Each of the 16 suites are located directly on the beach front measuring approximately 100sq meters and face the west which means you will capture the beautiful sun sets over the ocean. All the villas offer complete privacy and are carefully designed merging interior and exterior using natural materials and furnished in a traditional Zanzibari style.

Each of the 80 superior rooms are furnished in a traditional Zanzibari style and are approximately 80sq meters with large balconies where you will be able to admire the beautiful views or simply relax in an oasis of calm.

Facilities

The facilities and service at this hotel are great, there really is something for everyone, and you will be spoilt for choice. There are four large swimming pools, one of which has a swim-up-bar where you can order your Margarita and sip it whilst admiring the beautiful uninterrupted view over the Indian Ocean, or relax in the Jacuzzi. A fully equipped state of the art gymnasium is also available for the more health conscious guests to use when desired. You can choose to sit back and relax, or join in with many activities organised by the hotels animation team.

The friendly animation team start their programme in the morning and continue throughout the day offering activities such as table tennis, volley ball, beach football, water aerobics, water polo and much, much more. Entertainment also carries on into the evening with a disco or live entertainment where you will be able to see traditional dancers or singers.

Should you be travelling with your young family, your children will never get board as there is a kids club run by the friendly animation team open from 10am to 6pm with a fun-filled entertainment programme for children of all ages.

Our opinion

All the rooms at Royal Zanzibar Resort are beautifully decorated, clean, well maintained and really offer excellent value for money. The staff are always happy, they all speak good English and nothing is too much trouble. The quality of food in the restaurant is of good quality, served as an open buffet with a wide variety of choice and plenty of fresh fruit.

The resort is quite lively, but there are tranquil spots where you can truly relax in peace. This resort offers something for everyone.
