Overview

Star of the East is located at Nungwi on the North Western tip of Zanzibar, 50 km distance from the Zanzibar International Airport and 55 minutes drive from Stonetown the islands oldest settlement.

Named after the most precious and sought after jewels and gems the world has to offer each one of the unique villas offers pure escapism and relaxation for those looking for all inclusive accommodation in a private and tranquil setting. Generously spread out over the landscaped gardens each villa benefits from personal butler service, plunge pool and spacious open plan living area. Transport is provided to and from the private beach whilst meals can be enjoyed at the Ocean Blue restaurant and nights spent sipping cocktails in the Tiara Lounge bar.

All facilities at La Gemma Dell Est are available to guests of the Star of the East at no extra cost.

Accommodation

Each villas comes with a private pool and Jacuzzi, an extra large and fully furnished terrace with a covered and open area and a large tropical private garden to enjoy the un-matched views over the sea and the famous Zanzibar sunset.

Our opinion

The Star of the East is a modern fusion of African style and slick architecture under the umbrella of a large international group. Currently as a new resort little guest feedback exists, however our team recently visited and as such we are confident that should you be looking for a high end modern resort with everything on site, you should look no further than The Star of the East.
